Chenango County GIS Is Useful, but It Is Not the Same as a Free Roll

Start a Chenango County parcel search on the Real Property Tax Services page. It links to assessment dates, assessor lists, rolls, forms, and grievance schedules. It also links to GIS information, tax rates, tax collectors, school districts, and village collection dates.
The county’s Online GIS route uses a Schneider Geospatial subscription site. Its tools include aerial images and a tax-map layer. A parcel result may show the owner, acreage, location, deed references, assessments, and mailing address.
Use the public rolls for a basic check. Use the GIS subscription when you need its map tools. A GIS map is not a recorded document or proof that taxes were paid. Save the address, parcel number, map result, and roll year. Then ask the office that keeps the missing record.
