Delaware County DMV is really four different office clocks
Delaware County DMV users should compare Delhi, Deposit, Margaretville, and Sidney before assuming one permit-test or lunch schedule.

Delaware County DMV is not one clock. It is four local clocks spread across Delhi, Deposit, Margaretville, and Sidney. All four offices list general office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., but the smaller timing details change by location.
Delhi and Sidney list D and M permit tests from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Deposit closes for lunch from 12:15 to 1:30 and splits permit testing into morning and afternoon windows. Margaretville closes for lunch from 12:45 to 2:00 and has its own split permit-test window. CDL work is by appointment.
That is a very Delaware County kind of errand: the county is broad, the villages are far enough apart, and the best office depends on the route you are already driving. A stop that works from Walton or Sidney may not be the same stop that makes sense from Andes, Delhi, Deposit, or the Pepacton side.
Before leaving, pick the office first, then write down lunch, permit-test timing, CDL appointment status, proof documents, and the phone number. The county gives residents options, but the options only help if the household chooses the right clock before starting the car.
