Dutchess County gives delinquent-tax questions a Finance route. The Finance page links Local Law No. 2 of 2025, which authorizes installment payments of delinquent real property taxes, and a sample installment agreement.
The materials cover terms, down payment, payments, interest, and eligible delinquent taxes. Start by asking Finance for the exact payoff amount and whether the parcel is eligible for installment terms. If it is eligible, compare the proposed agreement with the quoted payoff, down payment, payment schedule, and interest. If it is not eligible, ask Finance which payment route applies to that balance.
Keep the bill or notice, parcel or account number, Finance answer, quoted payoff, proposed agreement, and each payment receipt together. Do not send an amount taken from an older notice without first getting the current figure for the parcel.
