Greene environmental-health questions may leave the county office
Greene County food, water, restaurant, camp, pool, motel, and fairground questions may route through the NYSDOH Oneonta District Office.

Greene County has a routing quirk worth knowing before a restaurant, camp, motel, pool, fairground, food booth, or water question gets passed around. Greene County Public Health is a partial-service health department, and environmental services for the county are handled by the NYSDOH Oneonta District Office. The county points food, water, indoor-air, restaurant, camp, pool, beach, hotel, motel, and fairground questions to that district route.
That can feel odd if the address is in Catskill, Coxsackie, Hunter, Windham, Greenville, or a small mountain road town. The county name is on the problem, but the operating answer may come from the state district office.
A clean file helps. Write down the place name, address, permit or inspection question, event date if there is one, and whether the issue is food, water, lodging, bathing, camp, pool, fairground, or indoor air. Then start with the county page and the Oneonta District contact instead of guessing which local counter owns it. The point is not to make the errand bigger. It is to get the first call pointed at the office that actually handles the environmental-health lane.
