Madison County recording packages should be checked against the clerk fee page, including return-mail instructions.

Check Madison County Clerk fees before mailing or dropping off a recording package. If you want the original papers returned by mail, include a self-addressed stamped envelope or the required postage fee.
A deed or mortgage package may still need follow-up if it does not cover the return mail.
If you are filing a deed or mortgage, put the return envelope or postage fee in the packet before you seal it.
Check the Madison County Clerk fee schedule against the land record you plan to file. Keep the property address, document or record number, fee information, and return-envelope requirement in the same filing packet.
