Tompkins Tax Foreclosure Notices Route Through Finance

Tompkins County Finance posts payment routes and auction notices, so owners should check treasury instructions before an auction page.

Published June 23, 2026 ยท Last verified June 23, 2026

Tompkins County keeps the payment route separate from the foreclosure-auction notice route. Payments may be completed online after emailing the Finance Office for instructions. Payments may also go by locked drop box or mail to the Finance Office in Ithaca.

Foreclosure auctions are online, with an auction notice and vendor listing. Do not use the auction page as the main payoff source. Get direct confirmation of the parcel balance and payment instructions with Finance before treating an auction notice as the deadline or payoff amount.

Keep the notice, parcel number, bill year, Finance instructions, payment receipt, auction reference, and date checked together. If an attorney, title company, or buyer is involved, keep that correspondence in the same file.

Use the Finance balance and payment instructions for the payoff question. The auction page and vendor listing do not replace direct confirmation from Finance.
