Ulster GIS is a early look, not a survey

Ulster GIS can help frame a parcel question, but buyers should still confirm boundaries, records, and assessments with the right office.

Published June 24, 2026 · Last verified June 24, 2026

Ulster County GIS lets a buyer, neighbor, or contractor see parcel context before making calls. Treat it as an early look, not a boundary decision.

A map can help you spot the municipality, nearby roads, water, or adjacent parcels, but it does not replace a survey, recorded deed, title search, or assessor file. Before spending money on a fence, driveway, subdivision idea, or closing assumption, save the parcel identifier from the GIS portal and ask the local assessor, clerk, or surveyor the exact follow-up question.

Search the Ulster County GIS portal with the address, then save the parcel number and map result. Take any remaining record question to Land and Property Services, and use a survey rather than the GIS view for a boundary decision.
