Yates DMV permit tests need the Penn Yan clock checked
Yates County DMV trips should separate permit tests, CDL tests, Enhanced IDs, and ordinary transactions before driving to Penn Yan.

A Yates County DMV errand can look like one stop at 417 Liberty Street in Penn Yan, but the clock matters. The county DMV page lists weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and then carves out special timing for a few tasks.
No permit tests are given after 3:00 p.m., and in-person permit tests need appointments. CDL tests run Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enhanced licenses and IDs have their own windows: noon cutoff in the morning, then 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon.
That is the part to write down before leaving Dundee, Penn Yan, Middlesex, Rushville, or a lake road around Keuka. A registration renewal and a permit test are not the same kind of visit.
Build the folder around the exact errand, proof documents, appointment, and time window. If a teenager is taking a permit test while a parent is renewing a registration, treat those as two separate clocks. The county office can process the right task much more smoothly when the trip starts with the right plan.
