Genesee Deed Recording Needs the Form Checklist
Genesee property owners preparing a deed should check legal-description and state-form requirements before assuming there is a blank form to fill in.

A Genesee deed needs more than a blank form. In fact, the County Clerk says there is no blank deed form to fill out. Each deed is tied to one property, must include its legal description, and must use the standard New York deed form for the seller’s signature.
The recording package also needs an RP-5217 real-property transfer report and a TP-584 transfer-tax form. The RP-5217 must be completed as a PDF, printed on legal-size paper, and signed by one buyer and one seller; the clerk does not accept a handwritten or typewritten version. The TP-584 can be completed on a computer or in ink, and all parties must sign it.
A deed changes ownership and legal rights, so the county strongly recommends using an attorney to prepare it.
