Orange County Keeps an Electrician List for Consumers
Orange County's licenses page gives consumers a dated electrician and inspector list, plus application and renewal routes for electricians.

Before hiring for electrical work in Orange County, start with the license record. As of July 6, 2026, Orange posted a consumer list of electricians and inspectors, along with electrician applications, renewals, business-name-change forms, electrical-inspector forms, and county license requirements.
That dated list is useful, but it should not be treated like a forever screenshot. Check it fresh before a project, especially if the work affects a permit, closing, rental unit, service upgrade, generator, panel, or inspection signoff.
The call can be simple. Ask the contractor for the name and license information they use in Orange County. Then compare that to the current county record and call the proper office if anything is unclear. If a town, village, or city building department is involved, ask that office what it wants to see before work starts.
For a homeowner, the goal is not to become an electrical expert. It is to make sure the person opening walls or touching service equipment is on the right official path. Good paperwork will not make the job neat by itself, but bad paperwork can make a neat job hard to close out.
