St. Lawrence veteran peddler licenses are a narrow clerk route

St. Lawrence's veteran peddler license is a specific County Clerk route, not a general shortcut around all vendor rules.

St. Lawrence County’s veteran peddler license is a useful little exception to know about, but it should stay in its own lane. Honorably discharged members of the Armed Forces and their spouses can apply through the County Clerk. The license covers hawking, peddling, vending, selling goods, or soliciting trade on streets and highways within the county of residence, and the usual vending-license fees are waived for qualifying veterans and spouses.

That can help a North Country craft seller, farm product vendor, repair-service table, fundraiser, or seasonal roadside idea get oriented. Still, the clean question is narrow: does this person qualify for this County Clerk license, what proof does the office need, and where will the selling actually happen?

It is not a blanket answer for every other rule. Food, health permits, park permission, village event rules, sales tax, insurance, road safety, state filings, and property-owner permission can still matter in Canton, Potsdam, Massena, Gouverneur, Ogdensburg, or a small roadside setup. Keep the discharge or spouse proof, county residence, license question, and event details together before assuming the license solves the whole booth.
